Does an ACOUSTIC GUITAR TUNER can also tune electric guitar ? or is it also used for tuning elec guitar ?

Does an ACOUSTIC GUITAR TUNER can also tune electric guitar ? or is it also used for tuning elec guitar ? ( regardless of those " tuning A fork " used in tuning acoustic guitars …lol :P )

A good quality guitar tuner can be used to tune either an electric or acoustic guitar. The notes are still the same.

    If it is an automatic tuner it dosen’t matter I have an electric guitar and it will most likely work on an electric guitar

    my husband uses his electric tuner for his acoustic so i couldn’t see why it wouldn’t work the other way

    Now a days most of time they can do both. Look up your brand and model online and make sure but it probably does.

    Yes. Tuners work by detecting the frequency of a strings vibration, so by placing your tuner where the microphone can pick up the sound (which would be pretty much anywhere if you are plugged in), it will work fine. You should be playing through a clean channel and have any effects off since they can effect the signal going to the tuner.
