How do u tune half step down for acoustic guitar with a tuner???

If I understand what you want to do, consider using a bar crimp to temporarily adjust the open strings without completely retuning. You can also check with a good music shop or a good music teacher.

Set the tuner to tune the guitar to D. Acoustic guitars are tuned to E normally and D is a 1/2 step down. If you have a decent tuner you should be able to set it up so that it will tune the guitar to D. Good luck!!

If the tuner only tunes to the standard guitar tunings (E-A-D-G-B-e), then tune the guitar normally. Next, tune the A string to the FOURTH fret of the E string. Now your A string will be tuned to Ab. Now continue tuning as you normally would WITHOUT a tuner (i.e. either by harmonics (my preferred method), or by fifth fret tuning).

You need a "chromatic" tuner, not a regular guitar tuner. The chromatic gives you all the flats & sharps. So 1/2 step down is Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, Eb.
