Ibanez Package w/GSR-200 Bass & Sound Wave 20 Amp w/Korg GA-30 Tuner Demo

Here’s a gently used Ibanez Bass & Amp “package” for you to check out. I’m throwing in a new Korg GA-30 tuner and a nice cloth wrapped cable. I seriously overplayed and made lots of mistakes and didn’t even think I would keep this “take” as you can tell by my tone of voice in the “thanks for watching” at the end, but it worked and every feature was shown and that’s the purpose here…not how well I can play…so I’ll let it go and let the mistakes show. There are no effects…I’m plugged straight into the amp and there was no editing done afterwards. What you see is what you get. If I forgot anything, just ask…

Merry Christmas and a Happy, Joyful, Peaceful, Prosperous New Year to all! Happy Hanukah to my own family and friends and Happy “whatever holiday it is you might celebrate” to anyone or anything I missed. I am thankful I run my own business and can say what I want to say…what I am led by the Holy Spirit who lives in me to say…we should all be able to celebrate our diversity yet also celebrate and understand what the true meaning of Christmas is…the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ…our (anyone who chooses to believe…John 3:16) Savior.

Thanks for watching and feel free to rate it and leave comments!
-Howard

How do you use an electric guitar/bass tuner?

My brother just bought me a guitar cuz I want to learn how to play,
and it’s very very out of tune. He got me an electric guitar/bass tuner, and I have no idea how to use it. I don’t have any friends that play the guitar, so I don’t know anybody that can help me. I also have tried tuning it with the piano, but that just got kind of confusing. If you need to know the notes and cords and stuff for this, I don’t… so PLEASE BE AS SPECIFIC AS YOU CAN, PLEASE!

all you need to do is play the string and the tuner automatically knows what string it is (make sure that it is on the guitar setting). A line will appear and when it is in the middle, the string is in tune. The only problem is that your string can’t be way out of tune or else it wont sense it. Most tuners have reference notes( A humming noise) You need to match the pitch of the humming noise and whatever string it says it is

The skinniest string is e
then B
then G
then D
then A
Then the fattest string is a E

They are also referred to as strings 1,2,3,4,5,and 6
1 being the skinniest and 6 being the fattest

good luck.

Tuner Install on Warmoth Jazz Bass Project and Telecaster Project

I think a drill press who be the professional way to do this, but figured I would show how I do it. The old carpenter saying of “measure twice and cut once” is magnified to nth degree so it takes some patience. I used a scrap piece of wood to test for the best drill bit size for each screw set. I prefer not to risk cracking the wood, so I make sure the screws will go in with just a small screwdriver. I tighten the Schaller bass tuners down in a symmetrical criss cross style that tightens pressure equally and slowly, and the Planet Wave tuners by tightening the anchor screw moderately than the topside bolt, then back to the anchor screw again to snug everything down gently but firmly.

The latest pedal board setup Sonic Research ST-200 tuner, Effectrode Tube Drive, Empress Vintage Modified Superdelay, Empress Tremolo into the Genz-Benz Black Pearl 30. Guitar was the Warmoth Swamp Ash Strat, with the Seymour Duncan ‘59 in the neck. Music is two go rounds of some 12 bar blues improv kind of thing right after shoveling snow this evening. Now gotta go back outside and do shovel some more. :(

What’s a good accoustic guitar/bass tuner?

I preivously had a Korg GA-20, but then lost it. I think it was pretty good except that tuning an accoustic guitar (no pick up) in a noisy place was difficult if not impossible.

I’m looking at the Intelli IMT-900 clip on tuner, but not sure if it’s good or not. Some people say clip ons don’t pick up low strings that well.

Any other guitar/bass tuner you’d recommend?
Budget is anywhere from $15 – $50
Thanks!

The intelli IMT-500 clip on IS really good. It just picks up the vibrations from the strings, and not just the noises. And it does work really well. It is used for accoustic guitars, electirc guitars, and bass. Give it a try, its the only one i use, and i love it.

Can you use a guitar tuner to tune a bass guitar?

I found a guitar tuner in the top of my garage and I am trying to learn bass guitar, not guitar. My mom said it’ll work but I don’t think it will. Help me please!

Yes, it will, you’ll just have to plug the bass guitar into it :)

Experienced Bass/Guitar Players: Suggestions for Tuners?

I have a Fender Sparkle-Tune tuner, and it used to work (though tuning is still annoying and frustrating even with digital tuners) but it recently somehow stopped working. I’ve been trying and trying to tune my bass and guitars but the stupid tuning-needle won’t move at all, it just stays in the same place.
To make my life easier, I plan on buying a new tuner, but I would like some suggestions (preferably from experienced players) as to which tuner I should buy, it doesn’t have to be a "professional" tuner or one that’s not like ridiculously super-expensive either.

Hi! Hope this does not fly in the face of conventional wisdom, but Korg ( http://www.korg.com/Products.aspx?ct=46 ) makes a very reliable and inexpensive line of guitar tuners. I have had a discontinued Korg AT-2 for many years, and it has been dropped off the stage, kicked, stepped on, used by my bass players (who can destroy anything, present company excepted!), subjected to extreme heat and cold, and it just keeps on working flawlessly! I also have a Boss TU-121, which is a fantastic tuner, but I would never consider taking it out of my practice room for fear it would somehow get damaged! Check out the Korg CA-30 Chromatic Tuner reviews at http://www.amazon.com/Korg-CA-30-Solo-Chromatic-Tuner/dp/B000BBRZ3S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1244604103&sr=1-1 ; for $15 to $20 at various retailers, this is a great little unit. Whatever tuner you buy, I would recommend not placing it directly in your signal chain. Trust me, it will suck your tone plus add unwanted noise, no matter how subtle the effect. Best regards, Dana
